Better Grip on
Every Pulley.
We supply rubber lagging sheets for conveyor pulleys in diamond pattern and plain finish. Lagging gives the drive pulley a better grip on the belt, stops slipping, and protects the pulley shell from wear. On bend and tail pulleys it reduces material build-up and helps the belt track straight.
Diamond or Plain?

Why Lag a Pulley?
- Stops belt slip on the drive pulley, which otherwise burns the bottom cover.
- Allows lower belt tension for the same pull, which is easier on the belt and the joint.
- Protects the steel shell of the pulley from wear.
- Reduces material sticking on the pulley face, a common cause of belt misalignment.
How Lagging Is Fixed
Lagging sheets are cold bonded to the cleaned pulley shell with a cold vulcanizing adhesive. The process is the same as for a cold belt joint: buff the surface, apply the adhesive in two coats, press the sheet on and allow it to cure.
