An endless conveyor belt is a belt that leaves our factory already joined into a loop, made to the exact length of your conveyor. The joint is hot vulcanised under controlled pressure and temperature in our press, so there is no metal fastener and no field splice to worry about. On small and medium conveyors this is usually the simplest way to get a belt that tracks straight and runs for a long time without joint trouble.

Why Buy the Belt Endless?

• Stronger joint – a press-cured splice is far more consistent than a joint made on site with limited tools.
• Smooth running – no clip or plate hitting the pulleys and scrapers, so less noise and less wear on the belt cleaner.
• Straight tracking – the belt is cut and joined square in the factory, which avoids the wandering that a crooked site joint often causes.
• No spillage through the joint – fines and wet material cannot leak through a vulcanised splice the way they do through mechanical fasteners.
• Faster installation – slip the belt over the pulleys, set the take-up and the conveyor is back in service.

Where Endless Belts Are Used

Endless belts are the normal choice wherever the conveyor frame can be opened at one side, or the pulleys can be removed, so a closed loop can be slipped on. Typical places are:

• Crusher feed and discharge conveyors in stone crushers and quarries
• Weigh feeders and belt feeders in cement, steel and power plants
• Short transfer conveyors and shuttle conveyors
• Portable and mobile conveyors, truck loaders and bag stackers
• Machine conveyors in rice mills, flour mills, sugar mills and agro and food processing units
• Screening plants and sand washing plants

How to Measure for an Endless Belt

The length is the one figure that has to be right, because an endless belt cannot be cut and re-joined on site as easily as an open belt. Please send us:

• The exact length – measure the old belt if you have it, or run a tape around the pulleys with the take-up at its shortest setting and tell us which one you measured (inside or outside).
• Belt width, number of plies or belt rating (for example EP 400/3), and top and bottom cover thickness.
• Material carried, lump size and temperature.
• Head and tail pulley diameters, and how much take-up travel is available.
